The betrayers.. (edited)

I post something like this on my FB,
UD41 shouldnt be applying for management work. Make yourself available at the hospital.

Then this friend of mine who will be doing her 5 year compulsory service at the govt hospital end of this year gave a remark that housemanship at Malaysia's Govt Hospital equals to SLAVERY. Then this other friend who is a PTD himself said that SLAVERY is for doctors who want to do management works.

If the ratio of doctor to patient become higher than 1:2000, our country may have to procure doctors. Seriously, we are procuring doctors now. "Buying" them in bulk from other country.

Shortage of doctors is happening all around the world. It is a critical post indeed. And Malaysia doesn't manage to produce enough doctors because of shortage of lecturers. It's like a cycle. Therefore we send them to study abroad. Sadly, not all came back to serve the country.

Who is to blame?
JPA? Because they are not stern enough to those who breach the contract? Charging minimal penalty which they can easily pay and butt off?
Or The Govt? for giving them such a low pay to G's MO therefore they are seduced to work in other countries? Or giving minimal medical charges to immigrants that causes the hospital loaded with them and extra workload to the doctors?

Well whatever it is, that's not the point. You have signed the contract. You agreed to serve the Go for 10 years when you have done with your degree but then you BETRAY the country by accepting other offers abroad.

How selfish is that?
You actually abandoned your team at your birth country. You used the people's money to reach your goals and yet, you served others. You are supposed to work hand in hand and share the burden together. Where's your loyalty??

I think the numbers are significant enough IF all those medical students came back to serve, the ratio won't be as ridiculous as 1:2000, the workload won't be that big and Malaysian doctors will be less bitter.

Would you agree that they are just damn selfish?

  2. Regarding this matter, they have no right at all. Leave when the contract is over but until then, stay and serve the country as what they have agreed. simple as that.

Well, the best man wins. It's all about surviving. Only then people will do their best in order to stay ahead and remain having what they have now.

what is my stance on this?

first and foremost, it is a little bit harsh, in my humble opinion to call these lot the country's betrayers. i do feel what you have said, and when i first joined the treasury, i understood how much we have spent for these people. if i am not mistaken, in uk itself, medical students were sponsored RM1.08 million per head. that was somewhere in 2007. correct me if i'm wrong. in my old blog, i did argue this wif feelow doctors who are my friends. and they said, they can't live wif the working conditions in malaysia. which to me was really silly.

isn't it that the nature of the job being a doctor? and in my opinion, anybody who has the guts to say that the salary given to doctors are really low in malaysia should think twice why they did medical school at the first place? should they think they want to get rich by being a doctor, they obviously have chosen the wrong career path.

(cakap pasal salary nih, kalau nak compare ptd scheme dengan kat thailand, my friend yang ada phd pun dapat sebulan USD400+ je, compared to us about USD700+ yang degree nih)

some of them are selfish, but not all. ada yang balik and serve. tapi ada juga yang dah duduk bertahun-tahun lamanya dan tanak balik.

saya suggest, kita identify orang2 mcm nih, pastuh kita blacklist passport. so diaorang macam takde negara lah. selagi diaorang tak bayar balik the loan/scholarship tuh, selagi tuh diaorang kena blacklist, selagi tuh diaorang takleh balik malaysia. amacam? brutal tak? hahahahahahaha.

kalau tanak serve, bayar. takdelah Govt nak bising2.

    True Mala..
Couldnt agree more.. Bile niat menjadi Doktor tu dah terpesong, macam dah ilang la segala ucapan "ingin merawat pesakit" masa interview JPA dulu..hehehe..

Betol, jangan bagi depa ni balik Malaysia dah, anything happens, stay there u jerks.. Emo lagi..

  5. seriously, these people shouldn't apply JPA if medicine means money to them.

seriously, i agree with the idea of blacklisting them, possibly the whole family from receiving the scholarship. got many friends in overseas, earning more than our local docs. they still can afford to pay other's siblings studies kan?

  6. first of all, orang kita ni agong2kan sangat nak jadi doktor ni, besar sungguh profesion doktor. so semua budak yang nampak bijak2 sikit, mak bapak suruh jadi doktor. minat tak minat belakang citer.

second, yang nak jadi doktor niat bukan untuk tolong orang. tapi nak duit banyak, hidup kaya raya, satu bulan gaji 60-70k.

third, dah abis belaja, tengok2 tak minat nak tolong orang. tak suka jumpa orang pun ada. lebih rela duduk ofis buat paperwork dari jumpa patient (tak salah aku, ada kes 600 doktor tak nak jadi doktor, nak duk kat ofis je, tak nak jumpa patient - hospital orang asli tu tak salah aku), waste of money!

last, sorry to say but kita punya govt hospital mmg agak teruk. patient dijadikan lab rat untuk trainee doc study. i got bad experience with govt hospital and i thank god for insurance - i get the fastest service without having to worry about how much money i have to spent. sick people dont wanna be thinking about other probs other than to get better.

aku pun cuma nak luahkan perasaan. haha

Terkejut..

Yer, blacklist the whole lot..hehehehe.. Jadi lah kes, sebab nila setitik, rosak susu sebelanga..

  8. Ara: yang 1st tu betol. 1 family if takde anak jadi doktor, macam bengong sangat ar family tu.

Yup, doctor tu orang cerdik pandai. Aku tak deny tu. People look up on them. If pergi mana2 n tau kite ni Dr, terus tone suara bertukar.

(No offence to Akak n doctors) Bukan aku cakap, ni pakar motivasi yang bagitau.)

Govt Hospital is the only place to teach them. And we as patients are their "samples". Kat mana2 negara pun macam tu. You" rather than treating us like dolls.

Habis madu sepah dibuang, ditinggal baju terbuka lepas buat kita jadi pameran awam. Kira ok dah patient Malaysia ni ikut je cakap doktor. If kat Europe, kene baling2 barang2 lagi dengan patients. Well, patients need appreciations too..

Aku tabik sangat2 dengan doktor2 ni. pengorbanan mereka sangat besar, keluarga, usia, hidup sosial demi untuk kerjaya mereka. Mereka memang "superman". And setiap orang ada reason to be bitter. Mungkin 1 hari tu Dr.A ade problem keluarga and malang kita dapat die haritu, kena layanan kasar.. Tapi if tiap kali pergi die macam tu, ade la tu tak kene kat mana2.

Amacam?

  9. so apa kata kita semua jadi doktor... tapi doktor phd ah. hehehehehehehe. boleh gak jadi kaya beb. jadi consultant. pastuh tiga tahun je menggila, tak mcm medical doctors 5-6 tahun.

so amacam? nanti sesape yang jadi kppa ke, ksn ke, sila-silalah consider idea aku. sebab aku rasa macam dah takleh berlembut dah. kekadang kena jugak amik tindakan drastik.
