I'm a mom..

Controversial title isn't it. Hehehe

Niece Hannah and Nephew Hariz.

These are my kids. Hehehe

Followed my parents to a relative's wedding reception at Majlis Perbandaran Nilai last Sunday. Brought these two mischievous kids along since their mom is so far away posted in Borneo. So, while helping Hannah with her food, someone said, "Anak akak ni macam cina, putih"..

Haha..

Didn't remember whether I corrected her. But Hannah kept on calling me Mak Su, so I think she should've known the truth by then :)

Raya-Openhouse-Majlis Kahwin-PTK

Perkara2 yang akan rancak berlaku dalam bulan September dan Oktober..

Ape2 pun, Selamat Hari Raya..

Hari Raya is not my favourite holiday kerana....
.... tv tidak lagi menyiarkan rancangan circus atau telematch Jerman yang sentiasa menghiburkan saya.. <---Salah satu reason..

Tapi Hari Raya pertama tahun ini, di KL sahaja. Parents tak balik KB, saya pun tak balik la. Malam Raya, sesi masak2 dengan Mama sampai jam 1 pagi. Sis Yanie masih di UK, Sis Yanti masih di Sydney. Sis Yana pulang ke KL. Tinggal 4 beradik sahaja.

Menu Raya: Nasi Dagang Mama yang sedap tiada tandingan, nasi impit dan kuah kacang.

Lepas solat Jumaat, ke PD. Hihihi. Ade ape di KL? Saudara mara semua kat KB. Tinggal di Ilham PNB Resort. Review akan datang. Sesampai di sana, polis ramai giler, siap ada Unit K9. Tak boleh masuk bilik. Syak2 ada kaitan dengan 4 orang itukah ke ada bom threat? Malam tu malam karok. Suara paling sedap, mestilah suami saya.. uhuk, uhuk..

Ahad: Kami ke Batu Gajah, kampung Abg Joe. Tinggal sehingga hari Khamis dowh! Celcom Broadband tiada pencapaian, Isnin aktiviti ziarah2, 2 hari lagi terbaring tengok movie je. Tinggal kami bertiga je di kampung, yang lain dah pulang ke rumah masing2. Dah lost count berapa banyak movie yang ditonton selain badan ini jadi jamuan nyamuk. Pelik bila abg Joe tak kene gigit langsung. Mungkin kerana beliau tidak semanis saya.. ehehehe

Openhouse: Jangan tanye, saya tak mungkin buat selagi tak punya rumah sendiri. tapi kalau nak datang, silakan. Tiada halangan. Beberapa jemputan dah diterima, baru pergi 1. Masih kawal diri, takmakan banyak pun. Tak sabar nak timbang berat Rabu ni. Kalau naik berat jugak, tak tau ar nak cakap ape lagi.

Majlis kahwin: Tahniah Shuko sebab selamat sudah jadi suami orang. Majlis kat Rompin tu, kalau senang, mungkin kami pergi. Weekend akan datang, ade lagi 3 jemputan kahwin..

PTK: Belum keluar lagi nama masuk ke tak untuk 11 oktober ni. tapi kene bersiap sedia sekarang. Next week start study group dengan abg Joe di rumah. (Echeh, macam ramai je) Target Aras 4.. fuiyoh.. ehehehe (Amin)

he's back...

Lil Bro Wan is back. He went back alone, Pa wants to stay longer accompany Ma. Bro Wan needs to get ready for his registration Next Sunday anyway. And yeay, he made it to UM, it's his second choice. Kakak borek, adik rintik, he chose uni kat KL and selangor je. The same thing his sister did 7 years ago.

Look what Bro Wan bought for his sister..

Sweet isnt he? I love Twix. Tapi Twix kat Malaysia mahal. Makan Tofilux keluaran negara Arab tu jer lah sebagai ganti. Baju tu macam ketat sikit kat hips, so Bro Wan said, "Ape lagi, kuruskan la badan"

chait :D

He even bought souvenirs for his friends but let me guess, mesti kawan perempuan :B

Must read

I had tears reading this.. Repost from my sister's friend Facebook notes

BEING A MOTHER....

After 17 years of marriage, my wife wanted me to take another woman out to dinner and a movie. She said, 'I love you, but I know this other woman loves you and would love to spend some time with you.'

The other woman that my wife wanted me to visit was my MOTHER, who has been alone for 20 years, but the demands of my work and my two boys had made it possible to visit her only occasionally.

That night I called to invite her to go out for dinner and a movie.

'What's wrong, aren't you well,' she asked?

My mother is the type of woman who suspects that a late night call or a surprise invitation is a sign of bad news.

'I thought it would be pleasant to spend some time with you,' I responded. 'Just the two of us.' She thought about it for a moment, and then said, 'I would like that very much..'

That Friday after work, as I drove over to pick her up I was a bit nervous. When I arrived at her house, I noticed that she, too, seemed to be nervous about our date. She waited in the door. She had curled her hair and was wearing the dress that she had worn to celebrate her last birthday on November 19th.

She smiled from a face that was as radiant as an angel's. 'I told my friends that I was going to go out with my son, and they were impressed,' she said, as she got into that new white van. 'They can't wait to hear about our date'.

We went to a restaurant that, although not elegant, was very nice and cozy. My mother took my arm as if she were the First Lady. After we sat down, I had to read the menu. Her eyes could only read large print. Half way through the entries, I lifted my eyes and saw Mom sitting there staring at me. A nostalgic smile was on her lips. 'It was I who used to have to read the menu when you were small,' she said. 'Then it's time that you relax and let me return the favor,' I responded.

During the dinner, we had an agreeable conversation- -nothing extraordinary but catching up on recent events of each other's life. We talked so much that we missed the movie.

As we arrived at her house later, she said, 'I'll go out with you again, but only if you let me invite you.' I agreed.

'How was your dinner date ?' asked my wife when I got home.
'Very nice. Much more so than I could have imagineed,' I answered.

A few days later, my mother died of a massive heart attack. It happened so suddenly that I didn't have a chance to do anything for her.

Some time later, I received an envelope with a copy of a restaurant receipt from the same place mother and I had dined. An attached note said:
'I paid this bill in advance. I wasn't sure that I could be there; but nevertheless, I paid for two plates - one for you and the other for your wife. You will never know what that night meant for me. I love you, son..'

At that moment, I understood the importance of saying in time: 'I LOVE YOU' and to give our loved ones the time that they deserve.. Nothing in life is more important than your family. Give them the time they deserve, because these things cannot be put off till 'some other time.'

SOMEBODY said it takes about six weeks to get back to normal after you've had a baby..... SOMEBODY doesn't know that once you're a mother, 'normal' is history.

SOMEBODY said you learn how to be a mother by instinct... SOMEBODY never took a three-year-old shopping.

SOMEBODY said being a mother is boring.... SOMEBODY never rode in a car driven by a teenager with a driver's permit.

SOMEBODY said if you're a 'good' mother, your child will 'turn out good'.... SOMEBODY thinks a child comes with directions and a guarantee.

SOMEBODY said you don't need an education to be a mother.... SOMEBODY never helped a fourth grader with his math.

SOMEBODY said you can't love the second child as much as you love the first.... SOMEBODY doesn't have two children.

SOMEBODY said the hardest part of being a mother is labor and delivery.... SOMEBODY never watched her 'baby' get on the bus for the first day of kindergarten or on a plane headed for military 'boot camp.'

SOMEBODY said a mother can stop worrying after her child gets married.... SOMEBODY doesn't know that marriage adds a new son or daughter-in-law to a mother's heartstrings.

SOMEBODY said a mother's job is done when her last child leaves home...... SOMEBODY never had grandchildren.

SOMEBODY said your mother knows you love her, so you don't need to tell her.... SOMEBODY isn't a mother.

Pass this along to all the 'mothers' in your life and to everyone who ever had a mother. This isn't just about being a mother; it's about appreciating the people in your life while you have them....no matter who that person is.

Ma, I love u so much..

Ooopss..

Ok, I went to Midvalley Mall (again) today with Ma. I need a woman's advice on buying women's stuff. Ma said the Pi**re C*rdin shoes are not nice. I took her words on it and decided to choose other shoes. However, my eyes fell in love with this 3-inch babies which is only at RM35, so I bought it. Not for hantaran but for my daily use to work.

We were very fortunate that we came today because J*sco was giving RM10 voucher for every RM100 purchase on make-up and cosmetic. I bought the perfume set for both of us and I bought the handbag which I can't wait to use it.. (Sabar, lagi 5 bulan boleh pakai..)

The salesperson at the perfume counter commented that Ma and I are like friends rather that mother and daughter relationship base from the conversation we had with ourselves. Ah, ayat pancing..

Yes we are =)

Miss my anak2 buah..

In 30mins, the clock'll strike 12.. Welcome 2009, gudbye 2008.. As usual, I'm at home, alone in front of the TV. Ma's asleep, Pa is reading like always in his room and Bro Pian went out to stay overnite at his friend's house. I think Wan is asleep too.

I'm just a bit lonely. The house feel so empty. I remember the 1st time we moved in here. I was 7. The house filled with noise and laughter. Bro Wan was merely 1 year old. The siblings talked, laughed, fought and yelled. And one by one leaving the house except me.

A few months before DPA, Niece Hannah and Nephew Hariz stayed with us because their mom went to UK to settle down 1st. Haris was so playful and energetic, we had to 'cage' him in the playpen. Hannah was forever watching Ceria day in day out. I can even memorize The Geng Bas Sekolah song because she watched the same episode all week. I fought with her when I didn't have the chance to watch my fave CSIs. She even hid the Astro remote inside the refrigerator and pretended that she didn't know where it was in order no one can change the channel.

Nephew Shaqil is always the gentle one. A big different from Hariz. Hariz even bullied him (toddler's way) when they stayed too close together. The nice Shaqil is now in Sidney. And I have no anak buah to play with..

Cant wait to see them this August.

Hannah speaks English with the slang. Hariz still speaks Hitler's language. Even Shaqil is learning more words than his cousin Hariz. I really miss them.. I miss my sisters too.. I even miss Bro Wan already..

Tell me a bedtime story..

Sleeping late last night watching Supernatural marathon at astro's new channel 809. The channel is airing old drama series such Buffy, Roswell, X-files and Invasion. Anyway, Buffy and Roswell bring back old memories.

Bro In-Law was coming to visit this morning so I woke up early and did some cleaning. Thought of sorting up the newspaper which is one of my favourite cleaning housechore. Sorting 2feet tall of old newspaper may need about half a day because I'll end up reading the articles, cutting interesting recipes (which I never tried doing) and the 'Mind Your Language' section in The Star.

However, sorting newspaper this morning turned out to be yucky when I discovered thousands of TERMITES making new kingdom at my stack of old newspaper. So, it took only 15mins to do the sorting which was the fastest. I burned some of the newspaper with thousands of termites. I know we shouldn't be burning any of the Lord's creature but that thing was creeping me up.

Went to KLCC to watch Bedtime Stories. Adam Sandler is Mr.Joe's favourite actor and it was Mr.Joe's time to select his movie. Bedtime Stories was OK. Funny and light.

Sick of eating fastfood, we decided to eat satay Sahmuri at Taman Melati. When we reached there, I changed my mind and decided to eat Thai Food instead. We saw Restoran Rumah Thai and went there for our lunch. The romantic looking restaurant disappoint me. I was imagining light romantic music but Mawi's reception was on the TV. We were the only customer and we knew why when we ate the food. It paid, I only liked the Apple Asam Boi drink.

On my way back, received an sms from an unknown number:
Ya, boleh tak dtg anta handphone, mp3, bank book and alarm clock.Boring giler kat cni.
Yeah,Lil'Bro Wan sms'ing already. Ma was so excited to see his baby son all botak. So she went there with Bro Pian. hmmph, it's been like only a day he's gone. Anyway, I kinda miss him already. No more teman to watch America's Next Top Model with me. I'll sms u who win for this cycle k Bro Wan?

Bro Wan yang braceface and botak. Sungguh tak hensem =)

Take care Lil'Brother..

Bro Wan registered his PLKN intake 6/2009 today. It's kinda hard to believe that Lil'Bro Wan is turning 18 next February. He is always gonna be my baby brother even how old he is. We differ 7 years. When he 1st started his primary, I was 14. I was the one accompanying him to school everyday till he was old enough to go on his own. Since I didn't attend boarding school, he was with me even when I went back home everyday with my so-called bf that time.

Last night he was packing his stuff for today n I shared my tiny bit experience during DPA outdoor module. When he get back 3months later, we may have something similar to share about.

I gave him a bottle of sunblock . I've peeled the outside sticker. and it looks just like a common moisturizer bottle. A sister will always be a sister I tell u. Thought of giving him many other things but it may embarrass him pulak. Lelaki meterosexual mane lar yang join PLKN ni.

Thanx to a friend of mine at MINDEF, Bro Wan managed to get Kem Temasya Rimba Templer, Rawang. A short distance from home. Easier for Ma to visit his baby son during the weekends.

Hope To Come Here Again

I went for my Umrah 10 years ago along with the rest of the family plus my arwah opah but without Sis Yana who was still in Belfast that time and .

I miss this place terribly. If I had the money, I wouldn't want to go anywhere else other than here. No Paris, UK, New York, New Zealand bla, bla, bla but only the Holy Land of Mekah.

I remember it was during Malaysian Commonwealth Games, we were already on the plane to Madinah. I was in Form 2 and my youngest brother was just in Std 1.

I remember how I burst into tears the 1st time I set eyes on Kaabah. Even my 7 year old Bro Wan was crying. How lucky I am to ever set foot here.

Anyway, being so young and lack a other few things, we (Sis Yani, Sis Yanti and I) sometimes treated the Umrah macam melancong and didn't make full use of the time we had to make as much umrah as we could. I regret that till now. After Subuh prayer we always went shopping.. Hee..

I remember we always woke up late. The Subuh azan was recited twice. The 1st time is like a waking call and the 2nd one is the real Subuh azan. My sweet arwah opah always the 1st one to wake up and prepare herself but she had to wait for the lazy grand daughters to get ready instead.

Ape lagi, kami akan berjalan laju2 supaya tak lewat solat Subuh berjemaah. Sekali dengan opah kena jalan laju dengan kami. Miracle nye berada di Mekah and Madinah, semua sakit2 hilang. Sakit kaki opah pun takde and boleh jalan laju dengan kami.
Cepat Opah, nanti lambat.
Sian Opah.I miss those moments. 10 years ago, Sis Yani was 21, Sis Yanti was 18 and Bro Pian was 13.

After the 1st umrah, kedua-duanye botak kepala and ade ade dua "toyol" bersama2 kami. Bila Pa, Bro Pian and Bro Wan jalan sama2, they looked so cute together..

I wish to go here again. I'm saving up my money and nak ajak Abg pergi sekali lepas kahwin ;) InshaAllah

Traffic jam and KL

I witnessed the worst jam ever yesterday morning..
The crawl started 50m before Sg.Besi toll all the way to TUDM, until the exit to Jln Tun Razak..
Crazy! a small accident can cause such a severe 'damage'..
I'm sure many showed up late at work yesterday..

I almost caught up in the jam this morning..
Luckily I was a few mins early and the crawl wasn't that bad..
An accident involving a kancil, toppled in the middle of the road..
The road converged from 3lanes to 1 lane..

Recently, I feel so malas to wake up as early as 530..
I snoozed my handphone clock until 6am..
Then jumping out of the bed, everything was done in fast forward mode..

Anyway, Sis Yanti gave birth to a 3kg bb boy yesterday..
Alhamdulillah..
Yey, another nephew..!!
I drove straight to HUKM from work..
There was a complication and she had to go through C-section
I didn't know the way there except from MRR2 so I just gamble my way.
I missed the exit to Jln Loke Yew and I had to make 1 big turn to get back into that road..
And a stupid car almost knocked down my Kenari.Sipi tersgt..

I'm glad Sis Yanti and baby are in good condition..
More post about this new nephew of mine later..
Btw, I'm thinking, what should I buy for my new nephew..

~takutnye beranak...

Being independent..

Bro Wan registered at his new school last Friday..
I nearly came to tears when he hugged me that morning..
Can't believe my baby brother is living on his own in boarding school..
Can't imagine him washing and folding his own clothes (which he never did when he was at home)..

I went to school with him eversince he was in standard 1 while I was in form2 until I finished secondary.. He was the reason why I was always late to school..
And I was the one who sent and fetched him to afternoon religious school until he managed to go there on his own..
At that time, there were times I thought him as a burden but once he is no longer depending on me, I just missed him terribly..

We (Ma and I) went to visit him yesterday. Luckily, the traffic was smooth sailing..
Seeing him among the crowd of students, he looks so small and innocent..
He said he's getting on with his new life there. He studied until 2am (he never did that. He played game until 2am) because term exam is coming up this Wednesday and he has a lot to catch up if he doesn't want to end up in the last class..

Again, Ma came to tears when it was time for us to go back..
Ma gives himn an option. If he doesn't feel happy staying there, he can always ask to go back.
So, if he stays there, I'm the only product of a daily school..

Doesn't really matter now..
Daily school or boarding school, I've finished my degree and I am now working.

No Raya pics this year..

Hehe, guess what..
I just got back from Kota Bharu.. ;)
Papa dearest suddenly decided to go back..

First thing first, SELAMAT HARI RAYA, MAAF ZAHIR BATIN..

So, on the 1st day of Hari Raya, we went for Raya prayer 1st.. Fuh, rse mcm kat overseas..
Ramainye PATIs (Pendatang Asing Tnpa Izin)and PADIs (Pendatang Asing Dengan Izin)kat mesjid.. Nak cari muka orang Melayu pun macam tenggelam dalam kebanjiran PATIs dan PADIs..

At 10.20am, we started our 480km journey back.. (I wore my raya baju kurung ;) 1 record la, sebab tak penah travel jauh pakai baju kurung)Of course, Pa was taking his own sweet time driving at his usual speed.. (@_@) Jalan lurus pun, 60-70kmj jgk..We kept pestering Papa to drive faster..Papa kate nanti kene saman, sape nak bayar? tolak duit raye anak2.. ok, semua orang senyap.. hahaha

Just before Merapoh, about 280km to Kota Bharu, Pian took over. Tau2 la org muda bawak kereta. Jalan kat Merapoh tu dah la bengkang-bengkok, semua orang tak boleh tido sbb kepala berlaga2 sesama sendri dan risau cara pemanduan Pian yang agak berbahaya.. Everyone kept on the look up ;B

Arrived at Pulai Chondong, Kak Yana's house at 5pm.. Stopped by for tea break before we cont'ed to Kota Bharu.. Finally, lepas hampir 9jam perjalanan, smpai la di Kota Bharu at 7pm..
Orang yang duduk belakang jadi passenger pun lenguh2 bdn, petah lagi driver..

The next day, went to my Tok's house. Beraya dengan Tok, Tok Ayah, hardly spoken Aunts, Uncles and cousins... Nak pegi Pasir Mas tak jadi sebab semua pakcik2 Papa datang umah Tok, jadi, sebagai anak dara, duduk la dapur jadi tukang buat air. Siapa yang datang pun tak sempat nak kenal sebab asyik membasuh gelas2 (@_@) Bile rumah dah agak lega, pegi melawat sedara belah mama plak. Akak pun ikut jugak.

That night, went out with Sis Yana Abg Yie peg mkn kt KB Mall. Seperti biase, KB Mall punyerla ramai orang. Yang peliknye, orang KL pun sibuk2 nak pegi KB Mall.. (xpaham) Sis Yanie and family datang umah Pengkalan Chepa nak beraye ngn kitorg. Nephew Hariz makin debab & Hannah makin ngade2..hehe..

And today, at 8.20am, lepas pegi rumah Tok, bertolak balik KL.Kereta agak banyak on the road and perjalanan makin slow kalo ade kereta2 tembel di depan.. Arrived home at 5.30pm.. Penat but so glad to be back..

Our family tak cukup because Sis Yanti was with her husband's house in Marang, Terengganu..

Well, this is my last time to receive duit raye.Next year, I have to give duit raye instead ;)
We hadn't had a a chance to take any family pics-very hectic..
Nasib baik da dapat keje, aunts & uncles asyik tanye skrg tgh buat ape.. (Soalan wajib tiap tahun ;) Boley la jawab, Nov ni start keje. Ade Aunt yang tengah interested dengan perusahaan biskut raye, mengutarakan soalan2 bonanza tentang food law.. (O' oh, hehe, I got B for that subject ;)

At least we came back. Can't imagine celebrating Raya in KL with only the 5 of us.. (@_@)

Raya in KL :(

Papa gave his final word today..

Papa: Raya thn ni kite tak balik Kota Bharu..
Me: Huh!! Ape??!! Npe???
*Silence*

Raya in KL sucks..
Our itinerary on that day would be, Raya prayer, bersalam2an with the family members, have our Raya meal, and everyone lepaks in front of the telly.. (@_@)

And I won't be able to collect my last duit raya after all..
uwaaaa......

Currently listening to: Raya songs T.T

Hannah, your Mak Su misses U!!!

Sis Yanie went back to her home today..

I'm gonna miss Hannah terribly!!!!!
I baby-sited her for 2months..
I bathed her, fed her, read to her, play with her..
She's like a daughter to me..
And now she's gone...

Who's gonna wake me up every morning
"Mak Su, bangun.. Bukak pintu ni.. Hannah nak masuk"

No one's gonna throw Tazy (my Tazmanian devil soft toy) under the bed anymore..
or bugging me to press the key 'O' when I'm using the computer..
or kacau me when I'm asleep
or asked me to give funny voices to the dolls..
or wanted me to watch Barney with her..
or played bubbles with her..
or helped me with the laundry..
or forced me to read to her..
or drew with her even though I'm suck at drawing things..

She's indeed a very, very spoilt kid.. But she's very adorable, sweet and very talkative..
Trust me, she talks like an adult..Her vocab is very good.. You'll be entertained by her...

Uwaaaa......
I miss her so much!!!!

Ugly Barney

I was checking on my emails when suddenly

"Mak Su, bukak pintu, Hannah nak masuk ni" plus all the bangings and knockings..

I opened the door, and there she was, holding a Pinnochio book..

Oh, no *sigh* (That means, she wants me to read to her)

Ok then..

She saw me using the laptop on the bed and she asked to watch Barney.. So, I searched via YouTube whether anyone uploads any Barney videos..

Among the results, there was this video claimed as "Puerto Rican Barney".. I clicked to see what is actually a Puerto Rican Barney.. At the beginning of the video, there was this ugly+fat purple hippo dancing..

All of a sudden, Hannah cried.. She said, that Barney is so ugly, it scares her.. I wanted to laugh but when she won't stop crying, I close the laptop and immediately read to her..

Later after that, she kept repeating "tak nak tengok hippo gemuk. Hannah takut" ;)
I guess, that ugly hippo spoils the Barney she idolizes so much..
Too bad Puerto Rican Barney, you scare the children away...

Speed limit

So, the govt is reducing the speed limit at all non-highway roads during this festive season..
It's not a big fuss for Pa anyway, cos Pa always and forever always drives around 60-70kmh..
And Pa only received 2 or 3 summons through out his long years of driving..

You can imagine the long hours back to Kota Bharu when Pa drives.. (@_@)
While my bro-in-laws only took 5-6hours, Pa needs 8-9hours drive to arrive..
But I still love you dearly Pa.. (^^)/

It's Nana's (the cool chick) birthday today.. Nana, HAPPY 22ND BIRTHDAY!!!!
Miss u so much gurlfren!! Hope to see u soon..
